The Minister of Labour and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, has held a meeting with her counterpart, the French Minister of Labour, Employment and Inclusion, Élisabeth Borne, to strengthen collaboration and promote partnership in social matters, in relation to the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Yolanda Díaz has highly valued the meeting, which has served to strengthen bilateral dialogue in the face of common challenges, and to promote joint work to strengthen the European social dimension, the framework of which is set by the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Among other issues discussed were the need to promote fair minimum wages, effective training policies and improved protection for workers on the platforms, and some of the objectives included in the guidelines of the forthcoming Italian presidency of the G20.

Both jointly agreed that social issues, including the protection of workers, must be at the heart of post-pandemic reconstruction.

The meeting also focused on strengthening bilateral relations, especially in the area of frontier workers.
